Gentle Universe Discovery: TINY BUDS Rice Baby Powder

Where discovered: Mommy Mundo Breastfeeding Expo at Mercato Centrale, Bonifacio Global City

Since the birth of our son Dylan last year, we have not used baby powder on him because of the harmful effects of talc. Talc is produced by the mining of talc rocks and is closely related to the potent carcinogen asbestos.

After our gig at Mercato Centrale, BGC for Mommy Mundo’s Breasfeeding Expo, we checked out the participating booths and discovered Tiny Buds.

The label says that it is a baby powder made from 100% real rice grains, biodegradable and hypoallergenic. Nice! It also says that is a completely free from the harmful effects of talc and other chemicals commonly present in regular baby powder. We bought one for Php100.00. We love the mild smell of this baby powder too.

How to Make a Paper Boat

Thank you to all the families and friends who liked Gentle Universe's "B is for Boat" sketch. "B is for Boat" is part of the ABC (DIY) video with original Gentle Universe music and sound design that we are working on. It is fun playing with paper boats! No need to buy batteries. We can also use scratch papers in making these boats.

Gentle Universe will perform at Mommy Mundo's Breastfeeding Expo (after Mommy Milkshake fun run) this Sunday, Aug 14! Our set is at 8 o’clock in the morning. The post-fun run treat will happen at Mercato Centrale, weekend lifestyle and organic food market at Bonifacio Global City. It will also be in celebration of Breastfeeding Month. The expo is open to the public. 8am-2pm.

Ime Morales, the fairy godmother of Gentle Universe is celebrating her birthday today!

"Gentle Universe" was named after a line in one of her poems. She is a Filipina writer, a tai chi practitioner and founder of Isang Bata, an independent organization of volunteers who help underprivileged Filipino children.
